Guides

The cloth and the stitch are the same on all three comforters. These guides are about the down, and about what a duvet cover is not. The workshop itself is its own page.

The box stitch. The same cloth is used on Haven, Serenity, and Elysian.

800, 850, and 900.

Fill power is the loft you feel when you pull the comforter up. A higher number opens into more air, so the warmth feels lighter, not heavier. The fill weight does not change between the three. What changes is how soft, how lofty, and how quiet the night feels.

Down clusters. Larger clusters hold more air.

Goose down and duck down.

Goose down costs more because the clusters are larger, longer, and more resilient. They hold more air, so the same weight feels loftier. Duck down is the lower price. Goose down is the higher loft.

The shell up close, a 450 thread count cloth.

Comforter, insert, and cover.

The photograph is the usual cloth against your skin: a 450 thread count shell, soft and smooth. 100% cotton is the other choice, on all three. A duvet cover is an empty piece of fabric. It has no down in it. What we sell is the filled comforter, the piece that makes the bed feel light and warm.

How to choose.

You are not choosing a heavier comforter or a lighter one. The weight is the same. You are choosing the feeling of the night.

Haven is effortless comfort: light as air, warm when you need it. Serenity is loftier and more refined, at the same weight. Elysian is the finest expression of comfort we make. Exceptionally light. Exceptionally soft. Where sleep becomes an indulgence.
